KrishnapatnamCM seeks more gas for IFFCO plant in NelloreChief minister K Rosaiah on Thursday made a plea to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to help the state in getting an allocation of 3 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCMD) of gas in the first phase, and another 3 MMSCMD of gas in the second phase for the Indian Farmers fertilizer cooperative (IFFCO) plant coming up near Krishnapatnam Port in Nellore district.

Near 100 percent growth for Krishnapatnam PortApril 12 - It has been a year of setting numerous records for Krishnapatnam Port in only its second year of operations, with cargo throughput of 16.1 million tonnes for the last financial year compared to 8.2 million tonnes in the previous year. The port handled 407 vessels during the year compared to 206 vessels in the previous financial year. The port has set an achievable target of 35 million tonnes of cargo to be handled for the current financial year.
Gayatri Proj to divest stake in power unitGayatri Projects will dilute 49% stake in its 1,320 MW power project unit to a strategic partner in next two months and hopes to tie up the debt component for this by March end, a top official said. "Equity component is around 1,600 crores (Rs 16 billion). We are looking at diluting 49% to a strategic partner, we should be able to close the documents in next two months," Managing Director TV Sandeep Reddy told Reuters.
Krishnapatnam Port plans SEZKrishnapatnam Port, developed by Navayuga Engineering Company Limited on the eastern coast in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, is drawing up plans for setting up a special economic zone on 12,000 acre in its vicinity. The company has formed a special purpose vehicle Krishnapatnam Infratech Private Limited (KIPL)and secured formal approval for the project last week.
