It is going to be an enthralling experience for bird lovers and watchers embarking on a visit to the Nelapattu bird sanctuary located close to Sullurpeta in SPSR Nellore district for the flamingo festival.

Unlike in the previous years nearly 2,000 grey pelicans are nesting in the sanctuary, which is the breeding ground for some rare and endangered species like grey pelicans, open bill storks, little cormorants, spoonbills, white Ibises, night herons among 76 varieties of winter migratory birds. In fact, the sanctuary is one of the largest pelicanry in South East Asia.
