Amarajeevi Potti Sri Ramulu Nellore District

Elaborate arrangements are being made to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the Nellore Town Hall. Noted philanthropist Rebala Lakshminarasa Reddy donated land and constructed the present heritage building in the heart of the town in 1915.

It was inaugurated on April 15, 1915 by the then Governor of the combined Madras state, C.V.S. Sivaswamy Iyer.

Mahatma Gandhi addressed a huge gathering during his visit to Nellore on April 7, 1921, here. This popular landmark of the town is intertwined with the lives of people of Nellore who spend their evenings, enjoying a drama, concert or dance.
