Several top multinational and domestic business houses have either bought land from the state government or put up requisition. These units are coming up in Nellore, Visakhapatnam and Anantapur districts while five lakh sq.ft. in Raheja Mind Space in the capital city has been leased to IT companies

The auto major Mahindra and Mahindra also found Krishnapatnam more suitable for a Rs 600-crore steel plant compared to other locations.

The APIIC allotted 300 acres to Gujarat NRE Coke, 200 acres to Hindustan National Glass and 10 acres to Gemini edible oil, which will set up a facility with Rs 500 crore near Krishnapatnam. A French company Fance Louis Defres has also been allotted land.

Besides government land, there is availability of space in the private multi-product SEZs also. Sources said the managements of edible oil and pulses processing units put requisition for 200 acres in Krishnapatnam SEZ.
